PROBLEM(s) DEALT WITH: Unwanted children, and /or the need for an ability to plan for children. Discusses birth control options, as well as incorrect methods and myths. The revised version shows only one different panel from the 1956 version - which is the description of methods currently available

Sixteen page public school handout to California Middle and High School students in 1970. First two pages (link and link) are additional teaching aids distributed to teachers and parents in 1975.

GEORGE WALLACE FOR THE BIG JOB

Sixteen page Gubernatorial Campaign Booklet, commissioned directly by George Wallace for his bid for Governor of Alabama during the 1962 election. Wallace had lost to John Patterson in a previous election. Patterson was backed directly by the KKK. Wallace claimed "NO ONE WILL EVER OUT-N*GGER ME AGAIN", producing this booklet for the following election. Comic book is credited with helping him win.

PROBLEM(s) DEALT WITH:

1) Defense of the Alabamian Way of Life vs. Washington Government telling Alabamiams how to run their elections.

2) Battling the Civil Rights Commission.

3) Being ruined politically by Washington.

4) Segregation, and the argument there is no Constitutional enforcement to not Segregrate, see "Alabamiam Way of Life" (or item #1)

5) Overcoming Wallace childhood: Chopping wood, Mules, Plowing corn, Picking cotton, Depression.

6) Graduating Law School

7) World War II

8) Defense of "crippled, blind and underprivileged [white] veterans."

9) Industry, Job training, and Welfare for white Alabamians.

10) Fighting Communism (see page 12)

11) Segregated Schools (e.g. see item #1)

12) Paved Roads, Pensions, Liquor Agency corruption

13) Removal of "every [northern] freedom rider, sit in, and every other troublemaker backed by the NAACP that meddles in our affairs."

1950s safety comic on railroad yards, railroad tracks, and railroad crossings.

PROBLEM(s) DEALT WITH:
Loss of limbs, trapping legs on bridges, and other personal injury related to railroad yards, railroad tracks, and railroad crossings. Also addresses safety to other individuals, i.e. throwing rocks at the windows of passing passenger cars.

CAPTAIN AWARENESS - SEXUAL ASSAULT ON CAMPUS

or, "Oh what? Just because a superhero lady likes to look pretty and wear a tiny short skirt she's asking for it?" (we're joking)

Comic book produced in 1998, endorsed on the front cover (shown above) by RAINN, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network:

"the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline and carries out programs to prevent sexual assault, help victims and ensure that rapists are brought to justice."

Benefit comic. Proceeds went to RAINN and also AWSDA, Association for Women's Self Defense Advancement. Comic is drawn by George Perez (Wonder Woman), Norm Breyfogle (Batman) and Alex Ross (Superman), others.

PROBLEM DEALT WITH:
Published during a time when superhero comics were criticized for over-sexualizing almost any issue.
